What is JYSK?

When tradesman Lars Larsen opened the first store called Jysk Sengetøjslager in Denmark, it was no coincidence that the word JYSK was part of the name. In Danish, it not only means that you come from the part of Denmark called Jutland; it also signifies modesty, thoroughness and honesty. JYSK stands for credibility - a deal is a deal.

The JYSK Group

The JYSK name covers a large group. There are JYSK stores in 32 countries. In Germany and Austria, the name of the chain of stores is Dänisches Bettenlager - an independent company in the JYSK Group.

JYSK is present in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Greenland, The Faroe Islands, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Spain, Georgia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Canada, Romania, Dubai, Albania, Great Britain, Slovenia and Macedonia.

The JYSK Group, owned by Lars Larsen, today consists of approximately 1.400 stores, primarily located in Europe. The turnover for the group is in the area of 1.9 bn euros. Growth is stable and controlled.
